I have owned several home gymn systems over the years and the Bowflex Home Gym has, by far, been the most effective because of it's ease of use. Because of this, my workouts are done more routinely and consistently. This is certainly the case with the SelectTech Dumbbells system. Not every gym system can cover everything you want to do as part of your exercise program. That's why I tried the SelectTech. There are targeted muscles I just could not challenge as effectively as I wanted ... and I couldn't afford much more floor space. The SelectTech system has turned out to be the best solution that I was looking for.

The dumbbells are great space savers, and I highly recommend them if you need dumbbells and have very limited space. But they have two drawbacks. 1) The plates get out of alignment too often causing a dial to stick. Sometimes it can take a few minutes to fix the problem which is frustrating during the middle of a workout. 2) The length of each dumbbell makes them a bit clumsy. The dumbbells are at full length regardless of whether they are set at 5 lbs. or 52.5 lbs. This makes certain dumbbell excercises hard to complete due to the length of each dumbbell.

This was a needed addition to my home workout routine. I use these during my P90x routine. I'm in my 4th month and my smaller hex dumbbells were no longer heavy enough for some of the moves and it was just getting too expensive to keep adding additional pairs of dumbbells every time I needed to increase the weight.

I have been waiting to get these weights for a while. They finally went on sale from Bowflex with a bench, the stand, and DVD set, so I jumped on it. I started working out immediately. I have had them for about a month now. I really like the versatility they seem very well built and I have had zero issues. There are only a couple things I can pick on them for. I noticed some battle scars on the plates from re-racking the dumbbell. Not a really big deal but something to keep in mind for when these are a bit older. The only other thing I have ran into is the size. Each dumbbell is considerably longer than it's iron counterpart. So when doing exercises such as military press, your range of motion is reduced when they touch each other. Again, not a big deal but something to think about. It might even be beneficial because you can't reach fully extended therefore always keeping the muscle under duress. All in all I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone with limited space.

I received my dumbbells a month ago. I have used them a few times a week since. Here are my favorite things about them:
1. I live in a small apartment, so I don't have a lot of space to devote to exercise equipment. These dumbbells are very compact. They fit easily in a corner and still provide the weight range that I need.
2. I am not very mechanically minded. I use tools only when absolutely necessary. The setup for the dumbbell stand and weight bench was easy enough for even me to follow.
3. The dumbbells look and feel like they are well made.
4. I have already started to see results. I have been using the workout DVD that came with the set. I have started to see improvements in my physical strength and overall health.

I use these weights with the ChaLEAN Extreme program from beachbody. I was going back and forth with adjustable dumbbells that took forever to adjust. I finally decided that I need these and I am so happy with the purchase! They are basically 15 sets of weights in one!! They are easy to use and the grip is comfortable, which is important to me. I love my select techs!!!

I can't say enough great things about the Select Tech's. Love how versatile they are. I'm just starting out so I need the light weights, but I'm happy to know that as I build muscle, I don't have to go buy heavier weights. I have it all in one small package. Great product! Heavy duty, not flimsy at all, easy to click thru the different weight settings.

Bowflex technology is one of a kind, it takes only a tiny amount of space at home and you can relocate the whole set where ever you want. I use both the 52.5lb sets and the 90lb sets at least 15 days per month. They're an amazing way of gaining more space in comparison to having each individual dumbell weight and much quicker than changing a bar and plates. This is a NO BRAINER if you have issues with amount of space and time. The only cons I see is that when you start higher up on the 90lb'ers, the mechanism on the base doesn't always click in well, causing the dumbells to get stuck to the base, plus you have to have a fair amount of accuracy when placing them in the bases to effectively engage the mechanism.
